Onmi Communications

Broadband & Leased Line Services

Below are some of the products we have to offer. Don’t worry of you are not sure about any of these; we are here to advise and help you select the right solution for your business.

  • Business ADSL

Business ADSL connections deliver up to 24Mbps download speeds and 1Mbps upload speeds with no caps on downloads.

    Feature: ADSL

Ideal for: Businesses needing a base-level broadband service where other options are not available. Businesses are not heavily reliant upon download and upload speeds i.e. low internet usage.

    Static IP: Available

    Download Limit: Unlimited

    Maximum Download Speed: 24 Mbps*

    Maximum Upload Speed: 1 Mbps*

    * Speeds are subject to the quality of the connection type and the analogue line delivering the broadband service.  We endeavour to provide the most stable connection; this may result in decreased speeds.

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to the BT PSTN Switch-off, some exchanges have already issued 'STOP SELL' notices for PSTN / ISDN Services.  Therefore Omni Communications will NO LONGER be offering ADSL services.

  • Business FTTC

FTTC is Fibre To The Cabinet, which means optical fibres connect to a street cabinet. However, the connection from the street cabinet to your premises uses a traditional copper line meaning that it can run over a normal telephone line.

Because of this FTTC speeds vary considerably depending upon how far you are from the street cabinet and the number of other businesses sharing the connection.

It is, however, a very cost-effective solution and ideal for SMEs starting up on a budget. Reasonable download speeds can also be achieved, especially if you are in close proximity to a cabinet.

    Feature: FTTC

Ideal for: Businesses looking for high bandwidth on a low budget.

    Static IP: Available

    Download Limit: Unlimited

    Maximum Download Speed: 80 Mbps*

    Maximum Upload Speed: 20 Mbps*

    * Speeds are subject to the quality of the connection type and the analogue line delivering the broadband service.  We endeavour to provide the most stable connection; this may result in decreased speeds.

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to the BT PSTN Switch-off, some exchanges have already issued 'STOP SELL' notices for PSTN / ISDN Services.  Therefore Omni Communications will NO LONGER be offering FTTC services unless  FTTP services are unavailble at the local exchange.

  • Business FTTP

FTTP is Fibre To The Premises which means that optical fibres run directly from the exchange into your business.

This provides the ultimate in available broadband speeds for your area and is ultra reliable, offering an affordable solution with improved connectivity to FTTC.

However, FTTP services share the same connection from the public exchange to the internet which means that ultimately speeds can be variable depending upon the contention ratio.

    Feature: FTTC

Ideal for: Businesses looking for high bandwidth and cost-effective high-speed connectivity.

    Static IP: Available

    Download Limit: Unlimited

    Maximum Download Speed: 330 Mbps*

    Maximum Upload Speed: 50 Mbps*

    * Speeds are subject to the quality of the connection type and the analogue line delivering the broadband service.  We endeavour to provide the most stable connection; this may result in decreased speeds.

  • EFM

EFM stands for Ethernet First Mile, which uses multiple copper circuits, up to 8 pairs, to provide affordable but reliable high-speed internet connectivity.

Bandwidth is symmetrical so upload speeds are the same as download speeds and it also offers uncontended bandwidth.

It is a great halfway house between ADSL and a more expensive leased line.

  • Leased Line

Leased lines provide a dedicated connection between your business premises and the local exchange. Leased Lines deliver a symmetrical uncontended connection with a  fixed bandwidth of up to 10Gbps.

Leased Lines can be used for a variety of data traffic, including phone calls and internal network traffic.

Leased Lines come with agreed SLAs of up to 99.99% with fix times of 4 working hours and are the ideal choice for mission-critical connectivity.

  • SD-WAN

SD-WAN are wide area networks simplifying the connectivity between your branch offices and remote locations for mid-sized and large enterprises. MPLS-based WANs can be overlaid virtually with software-defined networking capabilities to boost the performance of your network at a lower cost than MPLS alone. SD-WAN services can quickly and easily configure your existing infrastructure to deliver big savings.
